Coaching, Mentoring & Facilitation for Leaders & Teams

My coaching, mentoring and facilitation approach is to provide a safe, empowering space for my clients, uncovering the truth behind whatever challenging situation they are facing. I do this using deep-listening and transformative questions, to get to the bottom of the present challenge, the future vision and what actionable steps a client can take to get there.

Please navigate to each section below for more information on what I offer as a Coach, Mentor and Facilitator.

Leadership Coaching

Coaching doesn’t require me to understand the ins and outs of your job or personal circumstances; it’s instead a way to draw out your truth, and enable you to develop solutions that you genuinely own.

It is particularly useful for leaders: their character dictates an organisations’ culture, their vision sets direction, and their approach inspires and motivates others. It is crucial that leaders find a space where they can be self-reflective and truthful, where they can develop a growth mindset, overcome challenges, understand their needs, and be championed. Being given permission to do the role as themselves fosters a high sense of self-efficacy, creating effective leaders and, ultimately, effective organisations/teams.

How does it work?

Length – 1-2-1 sessions framed by a Coaching Agreement lasting between six-months (meeting monthly) to a year (meeting quarterly). The Agreement sets out goals and expectations for the outcomes/outputs you want, personally and/or professionally, and concludes with a review and next steps.

Duration - Each monthly/quarterly session can last between 1.5 – 2 hours (depending on capacity/preference). I can be available for email contact/voice message between sessions, if this is outlined in the Agreement.

Location – Sessions are mostly carried out on video call (Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Meet), but I do like to meet in person for the first session if possible and will travel (I am based in Southampton).

Outcomes you can expect: for you and your organisation

  • For the leader personally: greater clarity, confidence, capacity and authenticity - make better, faster decisions; set clearer priorities; influence stakeholders more effectively; create space for strategic work; and sustain energy and resilience. Return on investment is visible in performance and impact (via self‑assessments, measurable KPI’s and outputs).

  • Team & delivery: higher team performance and retention, lower burn-out rate, clearer delegation and smoother execution — reducing management time and evidence showing improved impact and achieving outcomes/vision.

  • Strategy & influence: clearer strategic direction and stronger external influence — increased buy‑in, successful bids and partnerships that secure resources (strategy docs, funding wins).

  • Performance & career: faster decision‑making, visible promotion readiness and role expansion — demonstrating ROI through promotions, role changes and improved 360° feedback.

  • Wellbeing & culture: greater resilience, psychological safety and inclusion — lower absence, higher engagement and a sustainable leadership culture that reduces costly churn (wellbeing or engagement survey results).

  • “Lizzie asks great questions, reflects accurately, and has such an engaging. She also just ‘gets’ the [charity] sector, the pressures of leadership and working with a trustees board. I found our time together during my work transition incredibly helpful.”

  • “I think I know best, so it is hard for me to be coached, but I really appreciated Lizzie’s experience and credibility. I felt we could go toe-to-toe. This whole process has genuinely shifted my beliefs, and I am more prepared to take the risky path over the safe one.”

Mentoring

Unlike coaching, where you ‘draw out’ information from a client, mentoring aims to ‘pour into’ someone. I typically mentor fundraisers stepping into a new role/taking on a new project, or a staff member becoming a manager for the first time. I draw from my 17 years’ experience of management, strategy and fundraising in the charity sector to provide advice, guidance, support and encouragement to a less experienced individual or team.

How does it work?

Length - 1-2-1 sessions framed by a Mentoring Agreement lasting an average of six-months (meeting monthly), with focused action outcomes agreed at the beginning and ending in a review and next steps.

Duration - Each monthly session lasts for one hour, but this is flexible (depending on capacity/preference).

Location – Sessions are mostly carried out on a video call (Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Meet), but I do like to meet in person for the first session if possible (I am based in Southampton).

I can help you to…

  • Effectively transition to management/leadership — practical guidance to own the role quickly and manage/lead with credibility

  • Become self‑aware and clarify your priorities - focus on early wins and creating SMART plans to build momentum, achieve goals and gain stakeholder trust.

  • Form your team and delegate — set team expectations, delegate effectively, and establish performance rhythms

  • Build resilience and wellbeing for long‑term effectiveness

  • Fundraise effectively

  • “Lizzie is a very intuitive mentor, responding to what I was saying and bringing a flexibility to our sessions, especially when it came to topics outside work. The best thing from our time together was the tangible output of putting a proposal to the board. Lizzie helped me realise what I wanted and was a cheerleader for that throughout. She is an immensely engaging person to talk to and I feel I could learn a lot more from her.”

Facilitation

I have facilitated Trustee Boards, Team Meetings and Team Days, taking people through a process to achieve specific objectives. I create a reflective space for individuals and teams to connect, understand, clarify, resolve, resource and review across a session or multiple sessions, depending on what is required.

How does it work?

Length/Duration – Depending on the needs of the group or individual, it can happen over a series of days, or split days over a longer duration. It is bespoke to the client and their aims.

Location – In-person

Outcomes you can expect

  • Improve decision quality: facilitation brings neutral processes and tools to surface diverse views, reduce bias, and help a group (staff/volunteer team, Board) reach clearer, evidence-based decisions.

  • Boosts engagement and inclusion: activities are designed to draw-out quieter members and balance power dynamics, increasing participation and retention.

  • Increases meeting efficiency: structures agendas, timekeeping, and follow-up actions so limited time is used strategically.

  • "Lizzie worked hard to understand our purpose and hold us as the Board discussed our vision and values, prompting where necessary and creating space for reflection. Exactly what we needed".
